Proposals for Comprehensive Green Development in Khanh Hoa

Within the framework of the conference “Making Khanh Hoa a Comprehensive Green Destination”, provincial leaders, businesses and experts discussed in depth solutions for sustainable tourism development. The conference focused on assessing the current situation and potential, planning green urban areas, developing energy-efficient public transport systems, and shaping a comprehensive green ecosystem for Khanh Hoa.

According to provincial leaders, this is not only the beginning of the transition process but also the foundation for Khanh Hoa to become an international coastal tourism center associated with smart cities and sustainable transportation.

Green Tourism Standards: A Guideline for Businesses

An important highlight of the conference was the introduction of Khanh Hoa’s green tourism standards. This set of standards includes:

  • 102 criteria for accommodation facilities.
  • 100 criteria for tourist attractions.

These criteria cover various aspects: reducing greenhouse gas emissions, green actions in operations, sustainable management, preserving natural and cultural resources, and enhancing visitor experience and awareness.

Businesses can self-assess their level of sustainability through the green tourism software, with results classified into 3 levels: basic – advanced – excellent. Certified units will be recognized by the Khanh Hoa People’s Committee and granted a certificate valid for 3 years. This tool helps businesses clearly define their transition roadmap while creating a competitive advantage in approaching international visitors.

Green Tourism – A Sustainable Path, Not a Trend

From the business perspective, many agreed that green tourism is not just a temporary trend, but a long-term development direction. To make it a reality, coordination is needed between:

  • Government: developing incentive policies, providing financial support, and recognizing the green efforts of businesses.
  • Enterprises: changing their mindset, being ready to invest in facilities, and remaining persistent in the transition process, even when profits are not immediate.

According to the Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, developing green tourism requires perseverance, consistency, and synchronization. If it does not start today, the locality will gradually fall behind in the international destination race.

Eco-Friendly Accommodation Models

One of the new solutions introduced was the pop-up resort model – a type of accommodation that can be relocated or structurally changed without affecting the natural landscape.

This model aims for net zero emissions, while offering a nature-friendly experience at reasonable costs. However, to implement it successfully, businesses need a flexible creative team, modern technical technology, and strategies for sustainable reuse of materials.

Integrating Green Development into Tourism Products

Large enterprises such as Vinpearl have affirmed that developing a green ecosystem is their guiding principle. From accommodation to tourism products, nature and local culture are always prioritized.

In addition, many community activities such as beach clean-ups with tourists, green experience programs for children and young people have been implemented. These actions not only enhance brand image but also help spread green values in the community.

Conclusion

Developing green tourism is not just a trend but a survival requirement for Khanh Hoa to maintain its position on the international tourism map. From the green standards for businesses, eco-friendly accommodation models, to the “green flights” initiative, all are aimed at building a sustainable – comprehensive – community-connected green tourism ecosystem. Khanh Hoa is gradually realizing its aspiration to become an international coastal tourism center with a “green” identity in every development activity.
